Why are there so many different CPS test durations?
Different durations measure fundamentally different physical processes. A 1-second test measures peak muscular burst acceleration, 5 seconds is the community-standard balance of sprint and cadence, while 10 to 60-second tests measure stamina, consistency, and resistance to fatigue.
Which CPS test duration should I use to practice?
For benchmarking general click speed, use the 5-second test. For Minecraft PvP combat training, use the 10-second test because real engagements last 5 to 10 seconds. For testing hardware and pure burst output, use the 1-second burst test.
How does keyboard/spacebar CPS differ from mouse CPS?
Keyboard switches feature deeper travel distance (typically 3.5–4.0mm) and higher actuation force compared to mouse microswitches (0.5–1.0mm travel). Consequently, spacebar and keyboard CPS runs 1–3 CPS lower on the same hands than mouse clicking.
What is the double click test used for?
The double click test diagnoses mechanical mouse switch failure (unintended bounce / double registering) or verifies whether your low debounce setting allows intentional double-clicking for butterfly and drag techniques.
