The number that matters in Minecraft is the sustainable one. A 12 CPS burst that dies after three seconds loses to a locked 9 CPS in a real duel, and every serious guide on this site says the same thing: train consistency, not bursts.
Technique decides your Minecraft ceiling. Kohi holds 8–12 CPS and is server-safe; butterfly reaches 10–16 with alternation detection; jitter pushes 9–14; drag hits 20–40 on the right mouse. The mode pages measure whether you are performing the technique correctly — the difference between real output and wasted motion.
The 13 CPS server cap
Hypixel and most competitive Minecraft servers cap the click speed that registers in PvP at roughly 13 CPS. Clicks beyond the cap are still counted by your mouse but land no extra hits. The practical target for Minecraft PvP is therefore a controlled 12–13 CPS — everything above is cosmetic, and training past the cap wastes energy that should go to aim and movement.
The cap also changes the technique calculus. On Hypixel, a clean 13 CPS butterfly equals a clean 13 CPS drag — the raw numbers are irrelevant past the cap. This is why consistency metrics (interval CV, alternation rate) matter more for Minecraft than raw CPS.
Minecraft-specific training
Train the durations of real fights: 5s and 10s windows, with occasional 30s sessions for marathon formats. Pair the CPS test with the technique pages — Kohi for the PvP baseline, butterfly for output, drag only if your server allows it.
